The Cessna T303 Crusader is an American six-place light twin-engined aircraft that Cessna produced until 1986. It began as the Cessna 303 Clipper, a four-seat Lycoming-powered twin that first flew on 14 February 1978 and would have competed with the Piper Seminole; only one Clipper was built before demand for four-place twins fell and Cessna redesigned it as a six-seater. The name changed because Pan Am held the trademark on Clipper. The T303 Crusader, an all-metal low-wing twin with retractable tricycle undercarriage, first flew on 17 October 1979 and deliveries began in October 1981. It was the first all-new production twin Cessna had built in more than a decade, and a declining market limited production to 297 aircraft, some of which still fly in the United Kingdom, Australia and Colombia.
