The Cessna 404 Titan is an American twin-engined light aircraft built by Cessna, and it was the largest twin piston-engined aircraft the company had developed at the time of its design in the 1970s. It grew out of the Cessna 402 with an enlarged vertical tail and other changes, and its prototype first flew on 26 February 1975. Two 375 horsepower turbocharged Continental GTSIO-520 piston engines power it. Cessna first offered the Titan Ambassador, a ten-passenger version, and the Titan Courier, a utility version for passengers or cargo, and by early 1982 seven variants were on sale, including the Titan Freighter with a strengthened floor and cargo doors. The United States military designates it the C-28 and the Swedish Air Force the Tp 87.
