The Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser is a three-seat, high-wing, single-engine light aircraft with conventional landing gear that Piper built from 1946 to 1948. It was the J-5C Cub Cruiser renamed when Piper dropped its J designations for PA numbers, and it gained a fully cowled 108 horsepower Lycoming O-235 engine and a metal-spar wing. The prototype first flew from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on 29 October 1945, and the last of 3,760 was finished on 18 March 1948. It can be flown on wheels, skis or floats and used for crop spraying, and in 1947 two PA-12s flew around the world.
