The GippsAero GA8 Airvan is a single-engined, eight-seat utility aircraft built by GippsAero, formerly Gippsland Aeronautics, of Victoria, Australia, and designed for remote areas and rough airstrips, where it flies passenger services, freight, sightseeing, parachuting, observation, surveillance and search and rescue. It was conceived to fill the gap between the six-seat Cessna 206 and the larger Cessna 208 Caravan, with a rectangular fuselage, a shoulder wing, and a spring-suspended tricycle undercarriage built for durability and easy maintenance. It is powered by a single Lycoming IO-540 piston engine. The GA8 first flew on 3 March 1995 and was type certified under FAA Part 23 in 2004. It was renamed the Mahindra Airvan 8 in 2014, production stopped in 2020, and after George Morgan bought the company back it resumed in June 2025 with serial number 263.
