The Cessna 140 is a single engine, two seat, tailwheel light aircraft that Cessna put into production in 1946 as the company reentered the civilian market after the Second World War. Built through 1951 across the related 120, 140 and 140A variants, it sold in large numbers to new private pilots and flying schools before Cessna replaced it with the tricycle geared Cessna 150 in 1959. Many examples remain airworthy today as economical vintage trainers.
