Wikipedia notes that "modes of transport include air, land (rail and road), water, cable, pipelines, and space," and fixed infrastructure belongs to the mode it was built for just as much as any vehicle does. Browsing by mode keeps a station, a canal and a runway apart even though all three are infrastructure.
