Short Singapore

Flying Boats and Seaplanes

The Short Singapore is a British four engine biplane flying boat built by Short Brothers and flown by the Royal Air Force during the 1930s for long range maritime reconnaissance. An early example famously carried out the Far East Flight, a long survey expedition that demonstrated the type's endurance over open ocean. It was one of the last large biplane flying boats in RAF service before Short's later monoplane designs replaced the type.
