The Saunders-Roe Princess is a British ten engine flying boat that first flew in 1952, designed as a large luxury airliner for British Overseas Airways Corporation on long distance routes. Its huge size and ten Bristol Proteus turboprop engines made it a remarkable engineering achievement, but the rapid rise of long range jet airliners overtook it before it could enter commercial service, and only three were built, with just one ever flying regularly.
