Kawanishi H6K

The Kawanishi H6K was a large four engine maritime patrol flying boat built by the Kawanishi Aircraft Company for the Imperial Japanese Navy, entering service before the Second World War under the designation Type 97 Large Flying Boat. Allied forces knew it by the reporting name Mavis. It carried out long range reconnaissance and patrol bombing missions across the Pacific through the war, representing Japan's most capable maritime patrol aircraft of the period before larger successors arrived.
