New Flyer Xcelsior

The New Flyer Xcelsior is a low-floor transit bus series built by Canadian manufacturer New Flyer Industries, introduced in the 2000s as the company's standard heavy-duty city bus platform for the North American public transit market. Built in various lengths, including standard, articulated and battery-electric versions, it is designed with a low floor throughout most of the vehicle to speed boarding and improve accessibility for wheelchair users and passengers with strollers, without the steps common to older bus designs. It has become one of the most widely operated transit bus families in the United States and Canada, used by numerous major city transit agencies, and later Xcelsior Charge variants extended the platform into battery-electric propulsion as agencies moved to reduce diesel bus fleets.
