An articulated bus, sometimes called a bendy bus, is an extra-long bus built in two rigid sections connected by a flexible pivoting joint, which lets the vehicle negotiate street corners and turning circles that a single rigid body of the same length could not manage. Developed to increase passenger capacity on busy routes without adding extra vehicles, it has become a common sight on high-ridership urban bus and bus rapid transit corridors around the world.
