Nissan Civilian

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Nissan Civilian is a single-decker minibus built by the Japanese automaker Nissan since 1971, primarily as a public bus and an intercity bus, and sold in Japan only at Nissan Store locations. It replaced the Nissan Echo, introduced in 1958, whose chassis codes continued on the Civilian, and it shares underpinnings with the Nissan Caball truck. Its usual seating capacity is 26 passengers, and its main competitors are the Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa, Toyota Coaster and Isuzu Journey. It was called the Datsun Civilian in some markets, and in China Dongfeng sells it as the Green Lotus with Nissan logos. Engines have included a 4.5-liter gasoline unit and several 2.8 to 4.2-liter diesel and turbodiesel units.
