Hyundai Universe Fuel Cell Bus

The Hyundai Universe Fuel Cell Bus, in Korean the Universe hydrogen electric bus, is a hydrogen fuelled coach produced by Hyundai Motor and first released in 2023. The article describes it as the first bus in South Korea and in the world in its class, covering express seated, intercity, express and tour coaches, to run on hydrogen, and it is based on the Hyundai Universe, specifically the Universe Elegance. Unlike the Universe Elegance natural gas bus, which hangs gas cylinders in the luggage hold, it puts the hydrogen fuel tanks on the roof so the luggage compartment below stays usable. It is used mainly as an express seated bus, a short distance intercity bus and a tour bus. Hyundai counts it as its second hydrogen electric bus after the Elec City hydrogen bus. Express seated versions came with a folding front door and later a front and middle door layout, which appeared in the second half of 2024.
