The Hyundai Universe is a heavy-duty luxury coach built by the truck and bus division of Hyundai and introduced in November 2006, sold mainly as luxury tourist buses. It is related to its sibling, the second generation Kia Granbird, from 2007, and competes with the Daewoo Zyle and BX212 and the Kia Granbird. It succeeded the Hyundai Aero and was developed over three years under the project codename PY with Hyundai's own technology and a monocoque body for rigidity, light weight and rollover protection. It was designed by the Hyundai Jeonju Design Center on a Hyundai bus chassis, with engines from the Q family of 235 to 340 PS and a 410 PS Powertec D6CB at the top, a five-speed manual gearbox and Euro-III compliant units. Classic and Luxury trims come in the standard-deck Space variant, with the Noble trim on the high-deck Xpress, and a long-axis EX model was released in 2019.
