Mercedes-Benz O 305 GG

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Mercedes-Benz O 305 GG, also called the O 305 G 2, was a former guided-bus and O-Bahn test vehicle from Daimler-Benz. The double-articulated car was based on the conventional O 305 G articulated bus, the second G marking the extra joint. It was shown to the public at the Hannover trade fair from 1 to 8 April 1981 and otherwise ran in private on the company test track at Rastatt. Its 24.08 metre length, 30.2 tonne weight and four axles carried about 240 passengers, with a symmetrical layout of two standard O 305 bodies joined by a floating middle section and a driver cab at each end. Two electric motors of 250 kilowatts each gave up to 100 kilometres per hour, supplied from overhead wire. It was later scrapped.
