The Mercedes-Benz O405NE is a trolleybus built by the operator PKT Gdynia in Poland from 2004 to 2010 by converting as many Mercedes-Benz O405N buses. Since the 1980s fewer trolleybuses had been made, and after the fall of Soviet rule many Eastern European operators converted used buses themselves. PKT, which runs the trolleybus service of Gdynia, used electrical parts supplied by Enika to convert 28 buses. Each has an EMIT STDa 280 6B electric motor of 165 kW with energy recovery in braking and 65 STH800 batteries for short runs without overhead wire. They are 11.8 metres long, of urban layout, with three plug-sliding doors; because of trademark problems the Mercedes logos were removed from the grille.
