Fiat 2401 Cansa

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Fiat 2401 Cansa is an Italian trolleybus model of the 1950s. It combined a chassis built by Fiat, model 2401, with a body made by the coachbuilder Cansa of Novara, and several Italian trolleybus systems operated it. Production started in 1953. The vehicle was about 10.5 metres long, had 21 seats and could carry 70 people in total, and it had two doors of distinctive appearance and a luggage space at the rear. Deliveries went to Ancona, Avellino, Bologna, Livorno, Modena, Parma, Rimini and Turin, with Parma taking sixteen vehicles and Turin twelve; some Ancona units, built in 1956 and 1957, stayed in service until 1987, while the Turin vehicles were withdrawn in 1978.
