AEC Regent I

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The AEC Regent I was a double-decker bus chassis built by AEC from 1929 to 1942, the first of the Regent line. Twelve pre-production examples were complete by July 1929 and mainstream production started in October 1929. More than 7,900 were made, many going to the London Passenger Transport Board as its ST and STL classes, with other buyers including the corporations of Bournemouth, Exeter, Glasgow and Leeds. The AEC Regent II took over in 1942. Preserved examples include Birmingham City Transport 486 at the Transport Museum Wythall and Thomas Tilling 922 at the London Bus Museum.
