The Mercedes-Benz OMC series are body-ready bus platforms with a motor, drum brakes and leaf or mixed (L) suspension, produced by Mercedes-Benz in Mexico for the North American market since the early 1990s. Depending on the model they serve urban or short and medium-distance intercity use as basic, lower-cost platforms with inferior performance. The article's heading dates the chassis family 1998 to 2009 and lists discontinued models: the OMC 1119 and 1419 with an OM 904 LA engine of 190 hp, the OMC 1421 with an OM 366 LA of 210 hp, the OMC 1423, 1425 and 1426 with an OM 906 LA of 230, 250 and 260 hp, and the OMC 1621 to 1628 up to 280 hp, the later ones with an Allison B300R transmission.
