The Mercedes-Benz OH 1521 is a bus chassis aimed at urban passenger transport. It was widely used in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and in La Plata, which already required low-floor, rear-engine, accessible models by obligation and common sense. It was bodied by establishments such as EiVar, Ugarte with its Europeo model, La Favorita, Galicia and Ottaviano, and the article lists Argentine bodies including the Marcopolo Viale (1999 to 2002), Metalpar Tango (2000 to 2003) and Alasa (2000). Its engine is a four-stroke direct-injection diesel with six cylinders (bore and stroke 97.5 by 133 mm) rated 210 HP, driving the rear wheels, with drum brakes and a 24-volt electrical system.
