Mercedes-Benz OH 1316

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Mercedes-Benz OH 1316 and OHL 1316 is a rear-engine bus chassis equal to the earlier OH 1315, keeping its dimensions, gearbox and axles intact. The first differences came from 1994, when the OHL variant was offered with air suspension and an automatic gearbox. Its engine is the OM 366, a four-stroke inline six-cylinder direct-injection diesel of 5,958 cubic centimetres rated 160 HP, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed MB G-50 manual gearbox or a four-speed Allison automatic. The Spanish Wikipedia article gives a wheelbase of 4,600 mm and an overall length of 9,750 mm, and adds that in El Salvador the chassis is used a great deal for cargo transport.
