Mercedes-Benz OF 1214

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Mercedes-Benz OF 1214 was a front-engine bus chassis from the Mercedes-Benz OF series of bodybuildable bus platforms. It continued the line of front-engine buses as an alternative to the long-running LO 1114 and the OC 1214, and followed the OF 1114. It was widely used through much of the 1980s and some years of the 1990s and was discontinued in 1993, when new rules in Buenos Aires banned front engines in urban buses. It was powered by a six-cylinder OM 352 diesel engine of about 130 horsepower driving the rear wheels, with leaf-spring suspension front and rear and independent air brake circuits for the front and rear axles.
