Mercedes-Benz OC 1214

The Mercedes-Benz OC 1214 is a bus chassis developed by Mercedes-Benz in Argentina as a functional modification of the LO 1114 chassis, turning it into a full-front model so that the bodied bus makes better use of its interior space. The first units went on sale in 1979 in answer to new urban transport rules, at about the time a front-engine version of the Ford B-7000 appeared; both were known in Argentine slang as Frontalitos. It was exported to Peru with great success and still runs on several Lima lines, mainly with El Detalle bodies. In the mid-1980s it was replaced by the OF 1214. Its engine is the OM 352, a four-stroke inline six-cylinder diesel of 5,675 cubic centimetres.
