Guy Victory

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Guy Victory was a high performance bus chassis from Guy Motors of Wolverhampton, introduced after the founder Sydney Guy retired in 1957. Guy developed the Victory trambus during the 1960s, a decade in which the company stayed successful despite having entered receivership in 1961 and been bought by Jaguar. Through the mergers that followed, Guy came under British Leyland. Leyland stopped production of Guy-badged buses in 1972, although Leyland-badged versions of the Victory continued to be produced at Wolverhampton and Leyland until 1986. The Wolverhampton firm's Fallings Park works closed in 1982.
