Bristol C50

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Bristol C50 was an early C-series chassis of the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company. The English Wikipedia article on Bristol Commercial Vehicles records that in May 1914 the company supplied its first bus to another operator, a C50 fitted out as a charabanc for Imperial Tramways at Middlesbrough, which makes the C50 the chassis that opened Bristol's sales outside its own fleet. The Bristol CV Buses website covers the C50 on one page with the C40, C45, C60 and C65, built between 1908 and 1924 with a Bristol AW 30 hp four cylinder petrol engine, and counts 127 for the group, including one delivered to Imperial. It gives no figure for the C50 alone.
