Mercedes-Benz O 405 G

The Mercedes-Benz O 405 G is a high-floor articulated city bus that Daimler-Benz built in series from 1984 to 2001. It belongs to the second generation of the VOV standard buses and is the direct successor of the O 305 G, while the solo bus version was sold simply as the O 405. In the 1990s it shaped the street scene of many German cities and also found many buyers abroad. The low-floor O 405 GN followed from 1992 but the high-floor G stayed in production alongside it until autumn 2001. Variants included a higher-specification intercity fit, right-hand-drive chassis and a number of trolleybuses, among them the O 405 G HCE, GTZ and GTD.
