The Ikarus 280 is an articulated city bus built by the Hungarian manufacturer Ikarus from the early 1970s into the 1990s, made up of two rigid sections joined by a pivoting turntable to increase passenger capacity on busy urban routes. It was built and exported in very large numbers across Hungary, the Soviet Union and the wider Eastern Bloc, where it became one of the most common sights of urban public transport, and its long articulated silhouette remains strongly associated with Eastern European city transit of the late twentieth century.
