Brompton Bicycle

Bicycles and Human-Powered Road Vehicles

The Brompton Bicycle is a compact folding bicycle that British engineer Andrew Ritchie designed in the mid-1970s, foldable in seconds into a small enough package to carry onto a train or store under a desk. Manufactured in London since production began in 1988, it became one of the best known folding bicycles in the world and a common sight among urban commuters combining cycling with public transit.
