Jerrie Mock

Geraldine Jerrie Fredritz Mock lived from 22 November 1925 to 30 September 2014 and was an American pilot and the first woman to fly solo around the world. She flew a single-engine Cessna 180 named the Spirit of Columbus, nicknamed Charlie, on a trip that began on 19 March 1964 in Columbus, Ohio, and ended there on 17 April 1964, taking 29 days, 11 hours and 59 minutes with 21 stopovers. She was also the first woman to fly solo across the Pacific from west to east and the first to fly a single-engine plane across the Pacific in either direction.
