Ferry Porsche

Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche, mainly known as Ferry Porsche, lived from 19 September 1909 to 27 March 1998 and was an Austrian-German technical automobile designer and automaker-entrepreneur who operated Porsche AG in Stuttgart, Germany. His father, Ferdinand Porsche, founded both Volkswagen and Porsche, and with him he opened an automobile design bureau in Stuttgart in 1931. The source lead says the Volkswagen Beetle was designed by his father and a team of engineers that included Ferry. After World War II, while his father was imprisoned in France on war crimes accusations, he ran the family company and, aided by the postwar Volkswagen enterprise, created the first cars uniquely associated with the Porsche name, which grew into a major sports car manufacturer.
