The Volkswagen D24TIC is a 2.4-litre inline six single overhead camshaft diesel engine that Volkswagen Group manufactured from August 1986 to December 1998. It is built like the Volkswagen D24T and the earlier D24, but adds an intercooler to help the turbocharger and to improve overall performance and the consistency of that performance. A TDIC variant adds an oil cooler and extra power of 95 kW (127 bhp). It was fitted to the Volvo 740, 760, 940 and 965 and to the Volkswagen LT, so one German diesel design served both a Swedish car maker and Volkswagen own commercial vans.
