The Volkswagen D24T is a 2.4-litre inline six-cylinder single overhead camshaft diesel engine that Volkswagen Group made from December 1982 to July 1992. It is built in the same way as the earlier naturally aspirated Volkswagen D24 but adds a turbocharger for better performance, with a modified cylinder head, oil squirters in the block to cool the pistons, reshaped piston skirts and a Bosch VE injection pump adapted to the turbo system. It was fitted to the Volkswagen LT van and was also supplied to other makers, appearing in the Volvo 740, 760, 780, 940 and 960 and in the Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 716 and 718.
