The Nissan D series is a series of overhead valve engines produced by Nissan, starting in 1964 with the 1.05 L D engine. Like a number of British and other Datsun engines it may have been derived from an Ohta design, which also found its way into some Kurogane vehicles; both companies were acquired by Nissan in the early 1960s. The D12 is a 1.2 L version of the D series inline-four that produces 56 PS at 4,800 rpm. Applications the article lists include the 1964 Datsun Cablight A122 and A220, the Cablight A220 and A221 to 1968 and the 1968 to 1970 Datsun Cabstar A320.
