The Mitsubishi Saturn, code 4G3, is a series of overhead camshaft straight-four engines introduced by Mitsubishi Motors and first used in the 1969 Colt Galant. Displacement ranges from 1.2 to 1.8 litres, and there was also a rare 2.0 litre inline-six version, the 6G34 Saturn 6, built from 1970 until 1976 for the Debonair. Early versions have a chain-driven valvetrain, while later ones are belt driven and equipped with balance shafts. Variants include the 4G30, 4G31, 4G32, 4G33, 4G35, 4G36 and 4G37. The 4G32 gained the MCA lean-burn emissions technology and a turbocharged version, and the 4G37 also served in the Eclipse and in Eagle and Plymouth cars.
