The Honda S series is a three-cylinder gasoline engine of 658 cc developed and built by Honda for kei cars, first appearing in November 2011 as the replacement for the P engine. It was marketed under the Earth Dreams Technology name, tied to Honda's stated goal of having the most fuel efficient engines in every class in which it competed by 2014 and of cutting CO2 emissions across its vehicles by 30 percent by 2020. The first S07A had a shorter bore pitch and thinner walls, which cut its weight by about 15 percent against the P engine, and came naturally aspirated or turbocharged. The second generation S07B appeared in 2017 in the second-generation N-Box with the same displacement but a long-stroke design of 77.6 mm.
