The Honda P engine is an inline three-cylinder gasoline engine first designed for Honda's kei cars. It debuted in the fourth-generation Honda Life in September 2003 as the successor to the E07A engine, with a single overhead camshaft driving two valves per cylinder and the i-DSI ignition system, which fires two spark plugs per cylinder in sequence. Fuel is delivered by PGM-FI electronic injection. At first it came only in 658 cc, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, because kei car rules capped engines at 660 cc, and a turbocharged one-litre P10A followed. An unusual feature is the lack of a separate exhaust manifold, since the exhaust gases collect inside the cylinder head. The small version ended in December 2013 when the S07 replaced it, though the P10A is still built in Thailand.
