The Honda D series is a family of inline-four cylinder engines used in compact Honda models, most commonly the Civic, CRX, Logo, Stream and the first-generation Integra. Displacement ranges from 1.2 to 1.7 litres, and the engine is either single or double overhead cam, with some versions adding VTEC variable valve lift. Power runs from 66 PS in the Logo to 140 PS in the Japanese market Civic. Production began in 1983 for the 1984 model year and ended in 2005, with the D15B three-stage VTEC sold outside the United States as the high point of the line. Earlier versions used a single-port fuel delivery system called PGM-CARB, in which the carburetor was computer controlled.
