The Nissan UD is a series of diesel engines produced by Nissan in a range of configurations from three to twelve cylinders, all sharing the same internal dimensions of a 110 mm bore and a 130 mm stroke. The engines were mainly used in heavy applications, such as buses and trucks. The article lists the 3,706 cc UD-3 straight-three, the straight-four, straight-five and straight-six UD-4, UD-5 and UD-6 of 4,941, 6,177 and 7,413 cc, the 9,883 cc UD-V8 and the 14,825 cc UD-V12, which it names only in a Nissan dump truck, the WD38. It adds that the engines now also find use in boats as an alternative to Cummins diesels.
