Mercedes-Benz G-Class

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, also known as the G-Wagen, is a boxy, body-on-frame four wheel drive vehicle that Mercedes-Benz introduced in 1979, originally developed at the request of a European head of state for military and government use before entering civilian sale. Its distinctive upright, largely unchanged silhouette across more than four decades of production has made it both a serious off-road vehicle and, in later luxury trims, a status symbol popular among wealthy buyers worldwide.
