Nissan Avenir

Automobiles

The Nissan Avenir was a line of station wagons that Nissan of Japan began producing in May 1990. It replaced the long-serving Bluebird wagon and delivery van and the Skyline Van, and it was a larger companion to the Nissan Wingroad and Nissan AD vans. The name is French for future, and the car was sold only through Nissan Store dealerships in Japan. The first generation, the W10, launched in May 1990 with a 1.8 L or 2.0 L petrol engine, and a 2.0 L turbo-diesel joined the passenger range in January 1993. The W11 followed in early 1998 and was not sold outside Japan. Its trims included the Salut, GT4, Rider and the raised Blastar. The delivery version, first the Avenir Cargo, became the Nissan Expert in 1999, and the whole Avenir line was cancelled in September 2005 for lack of demand.
