The Fiat 70 was a car built by the Italian manufacturer Fiat from 1915 to 1920, in the middle of the First World War. It was powered by a two litre straight-four engine rated at 21 horsepower, which gave a top speed of about 70 kilometres per hour. Around a thousand were made, and almost all of them were bought by the Italian army, so the model is best understood as a wartime military and staff car rather than a car sold to private owners. For its time the car was considered advanced because it came with a complete electrical system, an unusual feature when many cars still relied on separate lamps and ignition arrangements. After the war the Fiat 501 took over its place in the range.
