The Fiat 521 was a passenger car produced by Fiat between 1928 and 1931. It was derived from its predecessor, the Fiat 520, but had a bigger engine and chassis, and a shorter variant was sold as the 521C. More than 33,000 Fiat 521s were produced in Italy and Germany. The car was assembled outside Italy at the Fiat-NSU plant in Heilbronn from 1930, a step the source describes as setting Fiat on the path to its later multinational status.
