The Fiat 20-30 HP was a car that the Italian maker Fiat built from 1908 to 1910. In 1908, just before the company renamed its whole passenger car range with the Tipo designation, it replaced its 18-24 HP with this model. It was an upper middle class touring car of the kind that would now be called a grande routiere, and the article credits it with the first use by the Turin maker of a cardan shaft in place of chains to carry the drive to the wheels. It also foreshadowed the Tipo 3, which succeeded it in 1910 and took over much of its mechanical basis, together with its electrical installation for the front and rear position lamps and the lighting of the passenger compartment.
