The Fiat 12 HP was a car produced by Fiat in Turin in 1901 and 1902, and it succeeded both the 10 HP and the 8 HP. It was designed by the engineer Giovanni Enrico, who followed Aristide Faccioli as the designer of Fiat cars, and it was one of the first cars of its day to have a four-cylinder engine cast in two blocks. A racing version, the 12 HP 1901 Corsa, used the same engine and helped end the dominance of Panhard on European race courses. Towards the end of 1901 a version with a larger 7475 cc four-cylinder engine was offered, giving a higher top speed. In all, 106 cars were made at the Corso Dante plant.
