The McLaren P1 is a hybrid flagship sports car built by McLaren Automotive from October 2013 to December 2015, pairing a 3.8 liter twin turbocharged V8 with an electric motor for a combined output of 916 metric horsepower. It was one of the first high performance cars to adopt hybrid technology, alongside the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari in what became known as the holy trinity of hypercars, and it stood as the spiritual successor to McLaren's earlier F1.
