The Plymouth Road Runner is an American muscle car introduced in 1968, built as a deliberately stripped-down, budget-priced performance car in contrast to the increasingly luxury-oriented muscle car market of the time. Plymouth licensed the name and likeness of the Warner Bros. Road Runner cartoon character, going so far as to fit a novelty horn that mimicked the character's "beep beep" call, and the car became one of the best-selling muscle cars of its era.
