Suzuki XL-7

Automobiles

The Suzuki XL-7 is a mid size SUV that Suzuki sold from 1998 to 2009 over two generations, written XL7 without the hyphen for the second. It sat above the Grand Vitara in the line up and offered three row seating, and the name stands for Xtra Large 7 seater. The first generation was a Suzuki design with body on frame construction, essentially a stretched Grand Vitara, with a 2.5 or 2.7 litre V6 and an optional manual gearbox that was unusual in its class in the United States. European versions from 2003 had a 2.0 litre Peugeot turbodiesel. The second generation arrived on 22 November 2006 as a partnership with General Motors, built in Ingersoll, Ontario on the platform of the Chevrolet Equinox with a 252 hp V6. Suzuki halted production in May 2009 because of low demand.
