The Hyundai Inster is a battery electric A-segment crossover city car that Hyundai has produced since 2024, marketed in Europe, Australia, Japan and Taiwan and known as the Hyundai Casper Electric in its native South Korea. It is derived from the gasoline Casper but lengthened and adapted to Hyundai's dedicated K1 battery-electric platform, with the length and wheelbase growing by 230 and 180 mm. Hyundai first introduced it on 27 June 2024 at the Busan International Mobility Show, and the name is a portmanteau of intimate and innovative. The drive module comes from BorgWarner, with a front motor of 71.1 kW in the Standard Range model and 84.5 kW in the Long Range, using 42 kWh and 49 kWh batteries of nickel manganese cobalt cells. It debuted in Europe in January 2025 and launched in Australia on 16 April 2025, in Japan in spring 2025 and in Taiwan on 6 November 2025.
