The Pagani Zonda is a mid engine sports car built by the Italian manufacturer Pagani Automobili, debuting at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show and produced in limited numbers through 2019 with roughly 140 built, powered by Mercedes-Benz V12 engines ranging from 6.0 to 7.3 liters. Built largely of carbon fiber, it was originally meant to honor Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio before Pagani renamed it for the Zonda, a hot wind that blows over Argentina, following Fangio's death in 1995.
