Suzuki Kizashi

Automobiles

The Suzuki Kizashi is a mid-size family sedan made by Suzuki, sized between compact and mid-size cars, and its name is the Japanese word kizashi, meaning something great is coming, an omen or a sign. It was unveiled in the United States on 30 July 2009 and went on sale in Japan on 21 October 2009, in North America on 1 December 2009 and in Australia and New Zealand on 11 May 2010, becoming the first mid-size Suzuki sold in Australia; India followed in February 2011. Standard equipment was front-wheel drive and a 2.4 litre four-cylinder engine producing 185 hp, a more powerful version of the unit in the Grand Vitara. Poor sales after the Great Recession and Suzuki's withdrawal from the American and Canadian markets in 2013 and 2014 led Suzuki to announce in December 2013 that it would be discontinued without a successor, and production ceased at the Sagara plant in December 2015.
